We really enjoy turning our engagement session into mini-adventures. Not only do our clients walk away with some terrific photos to mark a supremely romantic moment in their lives, but more importantly it is a great chance to bond before the big day arrives. In this case, our adventure took us to the beautiful Wolfe Island. Together we discovered a remote beach called Big Sandy Bay, a secret ferry to the States, and found out first hand just how enormous those Wind Turbines really are!  Christina & Tommy were exceptional company, and really made the experience memorable. Come to think of it, I don’t think we went longer than 5mins without some ginormous burst of laughter. We finished our excursion with a well deserved meal at Pat’s Restaurant, hands down the best Thai food in town…YUMMERS! Thank you both for a terrific evening, I look so forward to photographing your wedding.

We are always looking for a good reason to visit Toronto and Ashley & Mike’s engagement shoot gave us the prefect excuse. A stop in to Rotate This, taking a browse through Type, a meander through Cabaret, and lunch at the Shanghai Cowgirl, all staples during any visit we make. Shooting in Toronto is tonnes of fun, especially when you’re coming from a small, but lovely, city like Kingston. It can really be quite daunting all the possibilities. The truth is I am just finding my bearings about town, but I look forward to working there more and more often as opportunities present themselves…wink wink, nudge nudge, this could mean you!

Ashley and Mike were great fun and totally comfortable in front of the camera from the word go, always nice : ) We started out in Trinity Park to take advantage of the lovely foliage so characteristic of Eastern Ontario autumns. Then we popped down to the Stream Whistle Brewery, right downtown Toronto, to give the session some interesting contrast: rural/metropolitan. By the way, what a terrific beer! We had lots of fun with you two, I can’t wait to photograph your Wedding. Definitely something to look forward to!

Steam Whistle Brewery

It is always a terrific idea to accessorize for your engagement shoot. That can mean a great pair of heels, some eye catching jewellery, cute hair clips, your fiancé (*smile*) or in this case rubber boots. Colleen & Nathan are extremely easy going people, so when we asked her to wear her rubber boots for the entire shoot she happily agreed. Granted rubber boots are an accessory geared toward  Spring, but I really feel the bright yellow help pulled the the warm fall light and foliage out even more than is characteristic of this time of year. And besides she looks great! A great accessory can really breathe life into a shoot and give it a little bit more character. If you are having engagement photos done soon, with or without us, be sure to lend your outfit some character via an accessory!

Hello Everyone,

We started the shoot, John and Yoko style, with a bed-in. We then moved from Anne-Marie & Davide’s beautiful condo in the Byward Market to the staggering Chateau Laurier . Anne-Marie and Davide were a tonne of fun to shoot; those two are nothing but smiles. We were extremely lucky in the case of the stair shot. Due to construction on the roads surrounding the stairs, the traffic had been minimized to almost no pedestrians. Can’t believe we we’re able to get a shot like that in downtown Ottawa at six O’clock! We had a great time photographing you two, and look forward to photographing your wedding day – rural Quebec…beautiful!

Lindsay & Shane hail from Bancroft, a place that has become very near to our hearts. Bancroft is home to Lindsay & Jeremy White, a bride in groom from last year that have become dear friends. It is also home to The Granite, a fine dinning restaurant and as it happens Shane’s place of work. If you ever find yourself in Bancroft, we highly recommend you pay The Granite a visit.

Lindsay and Shane were a joy to photograph. Lindsay has done some modelling (fabulous hair by the way!) and Shane is vocalist, so they were anything but shy in front of the camera. We basically lurked through the back alleys and downtown core of Belleville – quickly becoming another favourite location for us, so many great nooks and crannies.  We look so forward to photographing your wedding day!

We took a nice evening stroll through the beautiful Queen’s University Campus with Crystal & R.J.. Queen’s University, and the surrounding neighbourhood, has become one of my favourite spots to shoot. For a person that has always lived in Kingston, it is easy to lose perspective on just how beautiful our city is. The old campus architecture and walking paths make you feel like you are transported to another time, breath taking. Needless-to-say we had lots of fun and soaked up all the beauty we could. We are looking so forward to photographing you’re wedding : )

We were literally chasing the frolicking Jenn & Ian through the fields, “hey come back here!”  And we thought our last couple could move, being swing dancers and all?  Too much fun was had, too much sun was soaked up, and too many laughs were shared. We usually like to make our engagement sessions a bit of an adventure for our couples, I think Jenn and Ian were the ones that  took us for the ride this time.
